Amy and I arrived in Wellington yesterday morning after an all-night bus ride safe and sound. We had planned to meet a girl we're staying with at 3 p.m., so we were just going to hang around town all day until then. But as we got off the bus, our cell phone rang, and it was our friend of a friend telling us he was on his way to pick us up and take us to the house we're staying at. So we had a good start to our Wellington adventure.
We're staying in a house with three Kiwi girls who are very friendly and have taken us in and are showing us all around town. We really like Wellington. It's still a city, but with much more character than Auckland. It's also much smaller and easier to get around in. We're still adjusting to the cold and lack of central heating, but space heaters help a lot.
The job search begins Monday, but we've already seen a lot of help wanted signs around town, so we're not too worried about finding work. It helps a lot that we have a free place to stay for awhile and we're not having to spend a ton of money right now.
Now Amy and I are off to find the WETA workshop, which is where Peter Jackson works and there's lots of Lord of the Rings stuff. Wellington is full of Lord of the Rings places and references, so that's kind of fun and interesting.
Thanks for all the emails everyone - my internet access will be more limited for a while I think, but I love hearing from all of you!

Oh, do try to keep blogging as much as you can. I think everyone -- or at least me -- are living vicariously through you right now, wishing we could go to some country far away and have fun and exciting times, too. I'm glad things are going well. :)
